PDF WORKFLOW – Document review and approval workflow

The client KT KINETICS TECHNOLOGY entrusted DEV4U with the development of a web-based platform for the review and approval of engineering PDF documents, on behalf of the end customer PETRO RABIGH.

Leveraging Adobe ColdFusion, DEV4U successfully delivered a robust solution that fully met the platform’s objectives.

Participation in the review. PDF Worflow at the start of a new approval workflow sends participants and recipients an email notification and the link to the document.
Interested users can download the PDF document and participate in the review by entering their notes and comments with Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat. It is possible to insert comments in PDF files using the annotation and graphic marking tools.

Progress states. The PDF documents are gradually reviewed and uploaded by the various users involved in the PDF Worflow system (with comments and notes included), triggering the progress of the flow and moving it to the next step. Revision times are thus optimized. The number of STEPS in the system can be configured openly.
